David, We have been going to Round Top for a long time, and we have never stayed in a place as nice as the Silverspur! I can tell you, I don’t think any other place will measure up to Silver Spur. You have done a beautiful job with that house and now we are spoiled rotten! Judy J

David, the farm house is far from a typical "farm house". The eclectic style and updated amenities made it feel just like home. Everything you could ever wish for was there! Perfect and roomy enough for 2 families. Absolutely loved our stay there! AMAZING!

Seven members of our classics group spent a weekend in the Round Top area attending the Summer Shakespeare productions at Winedale and enjoying the food, shopping, and rolling hills. We stayed at the Silver Spur, sister property to the Bootstrap. This experience was absolutely wonderful. The house was large and the amenities were luxurious. The owners and housekeeper went out of their way to provide a memorable experience, with extra touches throughout the house. We brought our bathing suits, not really knowing what to expect with the pool, but it was delightful. We took a walk along the country roads each morning, then jumped into the beautiful pool to cool off. There are large porches front and back, and the living room couches were great for sitting and discussing our experiences of the day. All of us were "wowed" by the experience.

David, it is always a pleasure to get somewhere and have the reality exceed the expectations created by internet photos.  That was certainly the case at Silver Spur.  The property was immaculate, well-maintained and loaded with little unexpected extras that made it feel more like a luxury hotel than a vacation home rental.  The home has been exquisitely renovated from the bottom to the top, and all 5 of our teenagers were as happy as we were.  The pool is a super extra.  We needed a couple of days to just relax, and this was the perfect place.  This would also be a great retreat place for a book club or similar group.  The kitchen is well-stocked and as long as you arrive with groceries, there is no need to leave!  Restaurants are NOT plentiful here but the Stone Cellar in town was fine for a quick lunch or dinner.

Hi David.  We had a great time in your fabulous guest house!  You have it so well supplied for company that we felt right at home.  We loved the pool and watching the animals around it.  We also enjoyed Round Top and the area, in general.  Kudos too on the cleanliness of the house.  You obviously have a great housekeeper.

David, we had a great time.  Thanks so much for sharing your home with us.  It was the perfect getaway for the 4th of July weekend.  The home is so beautifully restored.  It has all the charm of the past and all the modern day comforts combined.  We are starting to renovate an old country home that belonged to my husband's grandparents and your home was a wealth of inspiration and good ideas.  The kids loved the pool.  We could hardly get them out of it the whole time we were there. Of course, they came home convinced that our country home renovations also need to include a backyard pool!

David, we had a blast.  We loved your house and enjoyed relaxing in the pool.  Your horses, longhorn and cows were so beautiful.  One of your cows seemed captivated with my daughter as she ran in the yard.  He couldn't take his eyes off her - in a sweet way.  When she fell and began to cry all the animals came closer. 

Everything we needed was at our fingertips.  I will surely pass the word around on your wonderful home.  I can't wait until we can afford to come back again!

David, we enjoyed our stay at your lovely guest home so much!  Absolutely no convenience has been overlooked.  We BBQ’d, swam, enjoyed watching the big bull and the horses, loved the trees, birds and yard, appreciated the craftsmanship of the restoration of the house, and found every comfort inside and out.  Just a spectacular place.  My family begged us to take them back for Christmas!!  We’re not ready to make that commitment yet, but that’s how much fun we all had.  Thank you so much for your attention to all the details.  A perfect holiday for us. The Silver Spur was absolutely wonderful!! I talked to Laura on the way out of town on Thursday just to tell you both thank you and let you know how great we all thought it was. We can’t say enough nice things about it! You both have done a wonderful job in making your guests feel right at home.
